​Showers Up And Running

Last year we added shower, laundry, and additional bathroom facilities to our main space, which has been a noted need for our community members. 

For showers, people book 15-minute slots. In between these bookings, the showers get cleaned and sanitized. Derek has been volunteering with Royal City Mission for two years and appreciates giving back, and interacting with community members. "They respect the space and are grateful for the opportunity," says Derek. He recalls that during the winter people arrived cold and wet; having a hot shower and ability to wash & dry clothes prevents illness and is deeply appreciated.

Dinner is Served! 

Chinthan joined the RCM staff team three months ago, serving in the kitchen. With a background in food services, he enjoys working with the team of volunteers. "The volunteers are passionate and love their work. They're helpful and friendly," says Chinthan. 

Thank you to the many volunteers who have helped transition to our current four-day schedule. 

We are also grateful for the many volunteers who are working to raise up monthly donors to bring us back to daily service.
