Blessing is not a word that I use often... I struggle with the idea that God is bestowing something on me that others wouldn’t also receive, or I get confused at how money is a blessing when it leads to so many issues etc.etc. Today, blessing is the best word I can find to describe how needs are being met here at RCM. Just when it looks like our fridges are running low on food, someone brings something... just when our finances are looking precarious, someone sends a donation. It has been a week of blessings! Food, finances, materials, masks, technology, etc. have all been provided thorough many sources and we are extremely thankful. BTW we are thankful for anyone who has prayed for us, reached out, helped their neighbors - this all works together to make for good community. I have thought a lot about the story of Joseph this week, and how he stored up food during 7 years of abundance, putting it away for 7 years of famine. This seems to be how things are going right now; our fridges and freezers are filling up, our finances are doing well, and yet we are also seeing new people daily and are expecting a surge in numbers as more people experience financial struggle due to the restrictions in place. We are being careful so that we have enough, but also letting the blessing flow through us to others. Keep Making Beautiful Things! We've been inspired by the flow of entries to our Gallery of Beauty. Thanks for brightening the world with your creativity. We'd love to see this continue. You can upload your entries directly to the Royal City Mission Family group on Facebook. If you're a coffee lover, this entry from Joel Zantingh will make your mouth water. |
