With a hot cup of coffee in my hands I experienced the beauty of the city of Guelph. Even in the dim light, there were incredible colours. Mist rose off the water, creating a mystical scene. With a hot cup of coffee in my hands I experienced the beauty of the city of Guelph. Even in the dim light, there were incredible colours. Mist rose off the water, creating a mystical scene. A blue heron shared a few minutes with me while I watched him watch me. It wasn’t long before the end of my nose was numb from the cold and wet from running. Before I got too cold, I headed home, glad to shed my coat and sit down in a comfortable chair to warm up. I was struck by the beauty of my early morning journey and the realization that I only appreciated the beauty while I stayed warm and comfortable. So many in our community were out in the same beauty I enjoyed and I am not sure they were experiencing it the same way I was. In half an hour I wanted to get out of the cold...they spent the night in it. Extending Our Open Hours Royal City Mission adjusted to the needs of the pandemic this summer by opening our doors to keep people fed and out of the extreme heat of the summer. With COLD weather just around the corner we've been wondering how best to provide for our community. With that in mind, we will be extending our “open” hours starting November 1, 2020. We will open our doors to those who aren’t sheltered from 1-8 pm, Monday - Friday and we will continue to provide meals, in partnership with the Welcome Drop-In Centre, at 1 pm and 6:30 pm, Monday- Saturday. Generous Neighbours We are so thankful for all those who have donated food, baked goods etc.. It has become the highlight of our day to see who and what shows up at the building. So many generous people and organizations make our programs possible. Recently, for example, we have received donations
