Dear Community,

Thank you for partnering with us to serve anyone in need in Downtown Guelph!

We want to extend our deep gratitude to both the City of Guelph and the County of Wellington for providing funding that allowed Royal City Mission to provide additional Drop-In hours that helped alleviate some of the struggles that our community members face on a daily basis as they live through poverty, precarious housing, and disconnection. We’re especially grateful for the recent municipal funding from January to March of this year. This Winter would have been excruciating for our community members without Royal City Mission’s additional programming hours and services to meet the growing needs in our city.

Many of our service partners express deep appreciation for Royal City Mission. They value not only our day-time shelter, which provides respite from the elements and nutritious meals, but also the opportunities we offer for their organizations to establish vital connections. These connections often lead to enhanced support and better health outcomes for those in need.

I’m incredibly proud of what we accomplished together.

With municipal funding ceasing at the end of March, Royal City Mission needs  to make reductions in its services. However, we’re committed to providing a transition period with our current hours to minimize the impact on our community.

Starting Sunday April 28, 2024, Royal City Mission will be  scaling back our Drop-In program to five days a week, from 2pm to 7pm, and reducing on-site meals to suppers, served at 6pm.

Royal City Mission remains deeply committed to supporting our community and partnering to serve those in need in Downtown Guelph. While financial constraints limit our capacity to provide greater levels of needed programming, our new hours help cover some of  the biggest gaps in services in our community.
